I was just left wanting so much more. I don't know what happened, hats off to Galo Olivares who made this film cinematography wise there are some great shots, also hats off to Art Production, Set Dec team the practical costumes and stuff looked really cool although it would have been cool to be able to see more of the xenomorph but it was casted in shadows which is fine but like cool suit I wanna see the few times we get close ups the edit is just to fast for me to see cool costume, same with it cuts super wide and we can see them. otherwise I didn't like it, story is a mess and is trying to have weight without setting up said weight, like I have to care about the characters before they die or else I am not gonna feel anything much like the false tension I felt when she was trying to get in the door near the beginning to get away from the Xenomorph and Andy didn't let her in, I didn't care if she died then either. its just frustrating because its almost a really good movie.

I state again, technically this works well, good camera work, some cool sounds in the score in some places, great places to cut off sound (although I think it could have cut out another location but that is just my persona preference) the sound design is good.

tightening of story here and there, a cohesive theme, some more character work and dynamic and some setup towards the beginning and this would be a bit more interesting, the thing is, it sets up as Alien Romulus but it comes across as Alien: we aren't doing anything with a title that refers to Rome we only picked it cause it sounds cool. why not explore what the title refers to, twins discovering Rome kind of vibes, why not have more of a tragic end? so many why not this or that.

obviously the grey thing at the end and the xenomorph are the two twins to some degree although it's not explored, you could have paralleled it with Andy and Rain made that dynamic so much more fleshed out, man this movie is going to make me infectious. I don't think I get or understand Alien I should watch the others before commenting further.

notes below
-------------------------
- this is my first Alien movie btw.

- really love how silent it opened up that was cool.

- oh no they got a rock.. a scary rock.

- I like the slow creepy-ness to the opening.

- like the yellow light at the table.

- so she feels like a caged bird.

- also the pacing of that talk with everyone about taking over the ship was way to quick, she got mad after he said that he was not her brother, but didn't react or say anything just walked out all angry.

- he did the boop that was funny.

- that sht where they are above the planet is pretty, cool little red/orange lighting and clouds

- I wish that we got to see some of this protective brother element, so far it's just kind of implied character dynamics, we see her protect him once but that isn't enough, not enough setup.

- so Jackson is like son of god, gift of god, jackson being the gift of god?

- Romulus and Remus were the twins who discovered Rome, Rain and Andy? are we going anywhere with this thought?

- how would she not tell her own brother, how wouldn't he know, did she plan to sneak him there without them knowing, have more questions but start with those,

- they keep saying what kind of synthetic he is lol.

- glad we get some red, was worried that we weren't going to get red lighting.

- I assume this synthetic is someone from another Alien movie?

- like this synthesizer when Andy is in the airlock.

- imagine if the sound cut out on her scream and then it hit the engine, that would have been cool. to have this whole section just silent, they made that choice in the beginning why not now?

- is it going to start singing Hello my baby? lol.

- I figured it out, put duct tape on your mouth, I am so smart.

- I understand it's all a metaphor for sex.

- are we implying that this ship is Rome? and now we are going to watch it fall? is this the final Alien movie? are we going to see Alien Trojan Horse?

- also her falling was funny lol.

- I wish I cared about the slap but I don't know Andy, and also to my knowledge this isn't Andy this is Ydna

- is this how people who haven't seen a marvel movie feel, very confused.

- should have been red lighting and not yellow.

- cool POV handheld shots.

- multiple mommies.

- so it just stabs him, brings him up into the ceiling and then stares at him until it's little mouth can pop out at it? I don't understand I guess? I know this is a sequel but whats the purpose?

- this would work so much better if he was like longing to be smarter, if we saw him getting picked on more, it's implied character dynamics but not working character dynamics.

- is andy both Romulus and Remes?

- mondays be like you got acid floating in the air amirite?.

- I didn't know Alien had wendigos most unpredicable crossover yet, until dawn and Alien.

- I just think red would have been a cooler color scheme than yellow and the poster seems to agree with me #changetored

- man was that uh.. I don't know.
