Spirited Away (2001)

I uh.. don't know how to explain this thing.. I think.. I think that I liked it? this is my first Ghibli movie and I am not sure what to feel.
I really liked the animation -- the water as the water spirit emerged, the lighting on the water as she traveled into the tunnel, the expressive backgrounds. -- the color design in the animation and lighting add this realistic element.
I loved the sound design, little things were given so much detail, like the footsteps, the wind, there was this silence found within the sound design and so much more.
the score was beautiful very simplistic but amazing, so much whimsy and wonder found with in this thing, the piano, the whimsy that played when she finds the soot spirts, so cool.
I do like that these world are filled with so much whimsy and wonder, that they allow you to exist in the worlds that they create and that is wonderful, I just feel I need to watch this again because I both did and didn't understand it, like I kind of have a feeling on what it means for me but to put that in words immediately feels weird, I need to think on this one. rewatching this as soon as I process these feelings.

- oh my god there pigs now! wtf -- I thought that they were going to die but nope pigs. they turned into pigs.

- I like the sound design, the window sound effects, how the footsteps change based on the surface that they are walking on,
- I really like the score in this scene where she meets Kamaji
- I KNEW IT SHE VOICES MEG! I KNEW IT BRO I GUESSED IT!!
- I really like the animation on her hair.
- I like the voice of Yubaba as she inhales smoke.
- I like this shot of the building casted in fog.
- I really like the animation on Yubaba it's very expressive and very cool to look at.
- loved the sound design on the bubble pops.
- I love the backgrounds for the film, they look so cool.
- the blood against the white is such a visceral image.
- when he turned back and he was planking lol.
- I like the sound design on No Face, the water sounds are cool.
- there are business spirits lol.
- the lighting on the water looks so good.
- nice granny is the coolest, she made a cool hair band.
- I like how long we lingered on the hands pulling apart that was nice.
- I like this shot pulling away from the tunnel -- felt very cathartic.
